Bee and Honey Experience Farm Tour

Standard

Perfect for a family or small group to discover the fascinating role of Bees and Beekeeping at our comfortable teaching room.Private Tours (your group only):

Min Fee is $75 and covers the first 5 people.
Each additional adult is $15, and each additional child ages 5-17 is $10. Kids under 5 are free. Extra people are paid upon arrival.

Bee and Honey Experience Farm Tour

Immersive

Immersive Tour – includes everything in the Standard Tour, but we take a bee smoker and go INSIDE a beehive.

Offered As Private Tours for Your Group:

Minimum fee is $100 and covers the first 3 people.
Each additional adult is $35 per person; each additional child ages 9-17 is 25 per person.
Max group size of 20.
Minimum age is 9. This tour is not for small children.

What to Expect:

- You will be able to handle frames, observe the honey, try to locate the queen, and observe bees firsthand, up close!
- If you choose the Immersive Tour, the entire group or family must register, even if only part of the group wishes to participate in the in-hive experience.
- A Bee Suit is Required. I have suits that you can use, or you can get your own on Amazon. You will need to send your sizes to me in advance.
- What to wear: Jeans, socks, and closed-toed shoes are required; avoid black colors.
- Max group size is 15.
- Tour Time: about 1.5 hours
- Waiver Form required
- You pay the minimum $100 fee here ( but First arrange a time with Ray by text or email)
- Anyone over the 3 included people can be paid on the day.

To schedule a tour, please email us your preferred dates. We try to do tours on Thursdays and Saturdays, but we can work with your schedule.

ALL on-site Bee Experience Tours require a Waiver of Liability agreement. This agreement ensures that you or the parent / legal guardian understands the inherent risk around a working bee hive or on a bee farm. You agree that we will not be held liable for bee stings, allergic reactions, or unsafe behavior by participants of your tour, as well as our right to refuse a participant a tour if we deem they are acting dangerously at the apiary and near the beehives. We do everything possible to prevent bee stings, and most tours go without any stings. However, it can happen. This understanding is for our protection and ours.

SC Law: “WARNING! Under South Carolina law, an agritourism professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in an agritourism activity resulting from an inherent risk associated with the agritourism activity”.

Winter Months: The immersive tour is not available from December to February. The temperature needs to be above 60 degrees to open a live hive. The standard tour is available as we have an indoor observation hive.

We participated in the Immersive Bee and Honey Farm Tour and could not have been more pleased with our experience! This tour was a birthday gift for my mom and my husband, everyone left happy and with an even greater appreciation for bees! The Immersive experience is definitely the way to go. We had an incredible time handling the frames, observing the bees up close, and trying honey from around the world. Ray has over 50 years of beekeeping experience. My family and I did the Bee Tour and had an amazing experience!! We had honey tastings with different types of honey from around the world.
